As a surprise for Christmas a client in Evansville, IN commissioned me to work with his wife in designing this painting for their dining room. They had been admirers of my work for some time and last Christmas Cory put together a slide show presentation to communicate to his wife Annelle that he had commissioned me. He started by showing her several of my paintings that he knew she liked and ended with a picture of me holding an empty frame and told her that this one was for her. The title of this painting is For Annelle.

Looking West was inspired by receiving a invitation to do a one man show in Jackson Hole, WY. I knew that I wanted to do something with a western flair. I borrowed this 1870's pistol and combined it with an old tin type picture. The image on the tin type was of a young boy so I decided to change it a bit and ended up doing a little self portrait in period clothing. After naming the painting, Shakira (my wife) said I should have called it Inner Outlaw (maybe I should retitle it). The show is August 10th - 31st at Horizon Fine Art Gallery.
